Revelation and the Revealed Jesus
The Candler Foundry
COURSE INFORMATION
Course Dates: July 8 - July 29, 2025
Course Time: Tuesdays, 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM ET (Online)
Course Description
Exiled on the island of Patmos, John receives a revelation: he sees and hears Jesus of Nazareth. What unfolds from there--images of lampstands and dragons--all ultimately point back to how the Crucified and Risen Jesus is revealed in the present world. In this four-week course, we will look at John's apocalypse and ask questions such as:
What is Jesus revealed to be?
How does the identity of Jesus shape John's description of the believing community?
How does evil parody God's divine rule and good creation?
What guidance does Revelation offer us? What guidelines does it give us for evaluating and responding to things that are hard to make sense of?
